For pot-pie lovers that want more pot pie and less crust, this is for you. Super simple to make, and near to no baking required. You will be able to satisfy your pot pie craving in no time, from scratch and far less the cost. Guaranteed to keep you full for longer and much tastier!






Shopping List
  • 1 3/4 cup Potatoes
  • 1/2 cup Peeled Carrots
  • 1 1/2 cup Onion
  • 3/4 cup Cremini Mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup Green Beans (fresh or canned, whatever you have on hand)
  • 2 cups Meat (left over or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup Celery Rib
  • 2 tbsp Canola Oil
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 tbsp Flax Meal
  • 3 tbsp Cornmeal
  • Fresh Parsley
  • 1 Recipe Easy and Quick Crust (optional)
  • Pot Pie Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Sage
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Thyme
  • 1 tsp Rosemary
Hardware
Chopping Board
Chopping Knife
Small Mixing Bowl
Pestle (or spoon)
Medium size pot
Mixing Bowl
Measuring cup, tbsp and tsp

Bottomless Pot Pie by Custom TasteTime 1 hour 40 minutes
Prep 10 minutes
Cooking 1 hour 30 minutes
Yield 4 to 5 cups pot pie


Time To Get Cooking!!!
Chop all veggies (exclude greens beans) into thick pieces
Put into large mixing bowl and toss with oil until all vegetables

Add 2 cups water and flax meal 
Bottomless Pot Pie by Custom TasteBoil for 30 minutes
Keep an eye on it, it if thickens up to where it is sputtering add more water
Stir occasionally
After 30 minutes add almond milk and cornmeal
Lower heat to a simmer
Chop up your meat or shred or cube depending on how big you want the pieces

Add meat and greens beans
Bottomless Pot Pie by Custom TasteIf you are using uncooked meat make sure to cook it all the way through before putting it into the pot. This is meant to warm up the meat not cook it completely. Unless you use chicken liver, then you do not need to worry
Stir until fully incorporated
Let simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally
Add 1 cup water
Stir in spices
Let simmer on low fo 45 minutes
Stir occasionally

Serving
1/2 cup serving size
Top with or pour over crust and/or parsley

Storing and Reheating
Let cool and put into airtight container
Leave in fridge for up to 1 week
Leave in freezer for 1 month
Reheat in microwave or on stove top until warm throughout

Tricks
-We used oven baked chicken and raw chicken liver in this recipe
-If you do not have cornmeal on hand flour or corn starch can also be used as a thickener however the nutritional value will vary. Use less tbsp if you are needing to substitute.
