Sweet Onion Vinaigrette

Sweet Onion Vinaigrette by Custom Taste
This vinaigrette is super simple and very quick to make. It is also great for more than just salads. The vinaigrette is tame enough to make into a dip or add to meat either while cooking or during tenderizing. Super versatile and stores well you can't go wrong with this recipe.

Shopping List
  • 1 Cup Diced Onion
  • 1/4 Cup Distilled Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Sage
  • 1 tbsp Mustard
  • Pinch Pepper
  • Pinch Salt
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tsp Lemon Zest
  • 2 tsp Milled Flax Seed

2 medium sized mixing bowls
Measuring cup, tbsp and tsp
Fork or whisk
Cutting board
Sharp knife

Time 40 minutes
Prep 10 minutes
Rest 30 minutes
Yield 1 1/2 cup

Time To Get Started!!!
Dice up onion into small pieces and put into a mixing bowl
Sweet Onion Vinaigrette by Custom TasteJuice lemon into the other mixing bowl along with; zest, pepper, salt, flax seed, sage and mustard

Whisk in honey until fully mixed int
Repeat with olive oil and then with vinegar
Stir in onions and make sure everything is throughly mixed before putting into fridge
Once mixed put into fridge for 30 minutes to rest
When time is up, remove from fridge and use as needed

1/4 cup (2 tbsp) is plenty for a full bowl of salad.

Storing and Reheating
Store in the fridge in either a bottle or other container for up to 1 month

-If you want a more subtle taste of onion and not a chunky dressing put the diced onion into a blender or food processor and blend until a paste forms.
