Fiesta Burgers

Fiesta Burgers by Custom Taste

We have been on a huge burger kick lately. I don't know if it is because it is spring so that makes it grilling season, or that I want warm weather so badly I have come to think that the more burgers I make nature will get its act together. Whatever the case, the weather is still cold (I am in Central Texas mind you, so 60 degrees is cold!). Don't get me wrong, I do love cold weather just not when it lasts for nearly 9 months! Now that that is out, let me tell you about this new burger recipe. Mr. Custom Taste, and myself, was getting tired of the usual onions, meat, etc to keep the burgers moist, so I began rummaging through the pantry/fridge. We keep pickled jalapeños on hand, at all times (Central Texas, remember?) so seeing them made a lightbulb go off in my head. I used them to keep the burgers moist instead of onions and also added some tex-mex spices to change up the burger routine. They are great, and not overwhelming. I think they are a pretty good idea if you ask me.

Tricks
-You can really use any pickled product of your choosing. Just make sure to let whatever you decide on to drain a little bit before adding it to the meat. You don't want a burger that falls apart any chance it gets.
-Toss some water onto the skillet to see how hot it is so you won't have to guess
