First off, being new to food politics and still working my way around I think I have a very good grip on what is going on and it how it affects all consumer’s without having to get into tons of historical bills and policies. I can view it simply and straightforward. I believe that Section 735 of the new HR 933, also known as the “Monsanto Protection act”, is a horrible thing. If you have been aware, there has been a huge push in the US specifically for federally (or at least state) backed laws supporting the labeling of GMO/GE ingredients in products. Pinto Bean Tortillas

So, as many of you may remember, being in the southwest we love spanish food fare. However since becoming a clean eater it is a lot harder to find cost effective and clean tortillas, so I have to make my own. I have made about 3 different kinds so far. This is one is my favourite for big dishes (like burritos) because they hold together and puff up deliciously.

Pumpkin Sensation Week: Day 2

Savory and pumpkin flavoured! Great as a snack, side or anything else you need it for. Bring it to a gathering or make if for a football party, it will be a hit no matter where you take it. Ingredients 3 tbsp Pumpkin puree 1 bottle Pumpkin beer* 2 cups Flour 3/4 cup Cornmeal 1 tbsp Oil 1 tsp Salt 1 tbsp Baking powder 2 tbsp Honey 4 tbsp Pumpkin Butter Hardware 1 Large Mixing Bowl Measuring Cup, tbsp, tsp Mixing Spoon Baking Pan Fork or Whisk Spatula Skillet Basting Brush Time 1 hour Prep 10 minutes Cooking 40 minutes Yield 12 servings
